LoD Heavy Duty
Jeep Front Bumper/Winch Plate
& Bolt-On Nose Guard
1987-2006 Jeep TJ & YJ Wrangler
The LoD Heavy Duty Front Bumper is the perfect compliment to your LoD Rear
Bumper/Tire-Carrier and is just as affordable too. The LoD bumper is available
in a standard 54" length and also in a shorty 44" version. Both bumpers come standard with D-Ring
mounts, light tabs and a durable semi-gloss black powder coat finish. LoD also offers either bumper with an optional 1/4" thick steel winch plate that is welded directly on to it. For those of you who already have an LoD front bumper or would just like to add a winch to their factory Jeep bumper, the LoD winch plate is also available for sale as a separate bolt on unit.
Along with the new front bumper and winch plate, LoD also offers 2 different
style bolt-on Nose Guards (Standard and Predator) that will work on
factory Jeep bumpers and just about any aftermarket bumpers available today.
NOTE: Main photo shown with optional LoD winch plate,
nose guard and D-rings. Fog lights,
T-Max Winch and Off Road Only aluminum hawse fairlead not included.
What
You Need
•
LoD Heavy Duty Jeep Front Bumper (Standard=54" or Shorty=44")
• LoD Winch Plate (or combo setup)
• LoD Nose Guard (Standard or Predator)
• 1/2", 13mm Socket/Wrench
• Torx Bit T-55
• Ratchet
• Torque Wrench
Installation
1.
If you have factory
fog light like my Jeep has, these will need to be removed prior to
pulling your bumper off. To do this, you will need to look underneath
the inside of your bumper and remove the single 13mm nut securing
the fog light. With the nut off, simply lift up your fog light and
allow it to dangle from it wiring harness.
2. Using a Torx T-55 Bit, remove the
4 upper bumper bolts (2 on either side) which also secures your Jeep's tow
hooks if you've got them. If you've never removed these bolts before,
it may take some effort to do and stripping a Torx head is nothing
but bad news. Try applying some PB Blaster to the bolts and use a
breaker bar to crack them loose.
3. Now, look underneath
your Jeep's front bumper and remove the 2 bottom bolts (1 on each side) using the
same Torx T-55 Bit. Again, pay special attention to not strip the
head of the bolt. PB Blaster and a breaker bar should do the trick
well.
4. With all the bolts
removed, your factory Jeep bumper should slide off the frame with
ease.
5. Now, grab your new LoD
Front Bumper and slide it onto your frame rails.
7. If you purchase a
LoD Nose Guard along with your Front Bumper, place it on top of bumper
mounting plate and hand thread the factory Torx Bolts to hold them
the two in place. If you have or purchased a separate winch plate, place it on top of the bumper mounting plate and then then nose guard on top of it.
8. Fasten your new LoD
Front Bumper, winch plate and/or Nose Guard to 80 ft. lbs of torque.
9. Re-attach your Jeep's
fog lights using the mounting tabs provided by LoD.
That's it, you're done!! Your Jeep now has an awesome new LoD front
bumper and nose guard!!
